Best Practices for posting your Jobs!

Employers are always looking for the best place to post jobs to get their open positions in front of the right candidates to fill those positions. There are several things that go into writing a good job posting.

Start your job posting with the right title. Describe your job but don't use a whole sentence to do so. Keep is short and clear. Trying to jam too many different job tasks in a title can be confusing. Try to keep the title to a description of the main task that the employee will be doing on a daily basis. Example Accounting Assistant, Territory Sales manager, GM Automotive Technician etc. You can describe other tasks that might be undertaken in the main job description.

The job posting must clearly and accurately describe the position and the criteria that the employer is looking for.

Write the job posting and keep it specifically about the job. Taking the first two paragraphs of your job posting to talk about when your company was started and how it has grown over the last ten years is important information but you can potentially bore potential candidates before they even read about your job opportunity. Describe the position and if the candidate is interested then they will investigate your company. Catch their attention with a great job opportunity.

It should include the compensation that is proposed so that the potential candidate can quickly see if it is within a range of what they are looking for. Compensation is very important to most job seekers and if you are not clear about the range then you can be wasting everyone's time by causing to many questions. Placing a compensation range in the job post allows you to negotiate based on each individual candidates employment experience.

Each job description should be unique and not posted on hundreds of different sites.
